The Kiwanis Club of Hopkinsville welcomed Heather Lancaster, Executive Director and Kelly from Sanctuary, Inc. at its meeting on October 22, 2026, to learn more about the organization’s mission and the important services it provides to individuals and families throughout our region.
Sanctuary, Inc. works to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing resources, advocacy, and assistance to those navigating difficult circumstances. Its work helps individuals find safety, support, and hope as they take steps toward a safer future.
Raising Awareness During Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to recognize the impact of domestic violence, raise awareness, and encourage communities to support survivors. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of accessible resources, compassionate support, and community-wide efforts to promote safety and healing.
Heather’s presentation highlighted the value of organizations like Sanctuary, Inc. and the role they play in helping individuals and families access the support they need.
